Lincoln Asher - 4 Months

I can't adequately put into words just how sweet this baby is! He will light up a room with his precious smile and I can't get enough of him. I feel like many of his likes and dislikes are the same right now. I know he's getting close to the age where he can do things like sit up be a little more interactive with us which is when we felt like Beckett was the most fun.

We go for his 4 month well-visit later this month so I'll edit to add his stats in then.

Weight: I'm guessing 15-16 pounds

  • He's sleeping in his bed at night and usually gets up once around 3:00. Most of the time I put him in bed with me while he eats and if I am still awake when he is finished and asleep I'll put him back to bed. If I fall asleep then he just stays in bed with me. :-)

  • He still has blue eyes, as babies do, but they look like they might end up being green (like Daddy!). Right around the center of his eyes you can see green and from the side they already look green. I'm hoping the blue sticks (like me and B), but only time will tell.

  • Lately when I put him in his chair to take a picture he either locks his legs so he is standing or will let me sit him down but will work his way to standing. He loves to be on his feet!

  • He's soooooo close to being able to roll over. It sort of freaks me out because we still swaddle at night, however he's in the Dock-a-tot and I don't think he could roll over in it.

  • The week after he turned 3 months he went about a week and a half without sleeping well. I'm thinking it was a growth spurt/mental leap so I'm hopeful that the dreaded 4 month sleep regression is behind us. If you saw my post about the Magic SleepSuit, we were trying it during this time and it didn't work (honestly nothing would have). It's also too big since I ordered the size up so we'll give that a try again soon I'm sure.

Likes:

  • Being held/bounced

  • His jumper

  • Toys that squeek

  • Wearing just a diaper

  • Hearing his own voice (sometimes he will wake me up talking and give the biggest grin when I open my eyes and look at him). This boy is a talker like his daddy and brother!

  • Being tickled (my gracious, I love how ticklish he is!)

  • Kisses

  • Big brother

  • Hitting and grabbing toys

    • He started fussing a lot in the car so we put some toys on the bar and he LOVES it! He'll talk to them and grab at them. Lifesaver!



  • Smiling

  • Talking

  • Being snuggled

Dislikes:

  • Getting out of the bath

  • Lotion

  • Dirty diapers (who wouldn't?!)

  • Being put down for too long

  • Car rides without toys

  • Not being able to see anyone for a long (to him) period

Lincoln - 1 Year

It's hard to believe that our precious baby boy is 1. He still seems like such a baby to us, so much smaller than B was at this age (unless our memories have completely failed us). The day he was born was perfection. It will always be one of my most favorite days ever.  We had very few visitors, at our request (of course big brother had to be there!) and were able to enjoy the full day together since the scheduled c section was early in the morning. It was the sweetest day and I'll never forget how special his birthday was or how happy I felt to have another sweet baby boy to love. The first year went a little differently than B's first year. We didn't co-sleep after 1 month, we only made it to 10 months breastfeeding because of the 3rd pregnancy/miscarriage (which is still a major accomplishment but B went 15 months so of course I had guilt over that), we had a TIME trying to get him to sleep at night. Baby #2 - Sharing the news

After trying for baby #2 for several months, we were thrilled to find out in October that we'd be welcoming a new baby in 2016! Since we knew exactly how far along I was this time (we had no clue with Beckett, I was about 7 weeks along and had no clue until my doctor had me take a test at his office before prescribing me fertility drugs) we knew we'd wait a few weeks before we shared the news. We decided that since I'd be 11 weeks on Thanksgiving we'd share the news with our families at our dinners. We had the first one on Wednesday evening and it was such a relief to finally start sharing the news. After dinner we went over to my mom's house to share the news with them since our dinner with them wouldn't be until the next evening. Lincoln Asher - 11 Months

I just can't say enough how sweet this baby is! However, he sure does give us a run for our money sometimes. He is into EVERYTHING these days. Our stacked stone fireplace = his favorite spot to mess around (inside the fireplace!) by getting the rocks out. You should see the grin on his face when he gets a rock and knows he's not supposed to have it. He will hike his little leg up like he's going to try to crawl on it and when we tell him no he will grin and start shaking his head no. He is rotten to the core. Sometimes I don't think I can handle another one after him. He wears us OUT!! haha Weight: 22lbs He's a professional crawler now. I love hearing his little hands smacking across the floor. He loves to eat. He will eat and eat and eat with no end in sight. He'll tear everything off the table in a restaurant in order to get to the bread. :-D He loves rolls, biscuits, bananas, and Popsicles, in addition to his baby food and formula. He's not a fan of...
