20 Weeks with Baby #2

I don't know why but 20 weeks feels huge to me. I know we still have a long way to go but being half way towards meeting our newest babe is fun. It also makes me feel super behind. By this time with Beckett we had his name picked out, had completed the addition of board and batten in his room, painted and had ordered furniture. The theme for his room was a no-brainer for me, as I knew before we even found out he was a boy that I wanted a nautical theme so we had tons of decor ready to go as well. This time, we have nothing. No name, no theme, no furniture, no color scheme. Nothing. We've gone back and forth over if we want to put this baby in Beckett's current room and move B to one of our larger rooms or if we want to leave Beckett where he is (the thought of moving him out of his nursery that we put SO MUCH love into designing just for him breaks my momma heart) and putting the new baby in a different room. I've even tried to talk Joey into putting them in the same ro...

Beckett - 21 Months

My sweet baby is 21 months old! Joey and I were just talking the other night about how we can't believe that he will be 2 in just 3 months. It's crazy to think he's been in our lives for that long but I can't even think about what life was like before him. He just makes every day so much sweeter. He's learning SO MUCH every single day and he is a copy cat so we have to be careful of the things we do when he's watching because there is a good chance that he'll try it too. Since I'm apparently really bad at this monthly updates things, I'll probably hold off on doing another until he's 2 in April. Stats: His 18 month well visit wasn't scheduled until last week when he was right at 21 months old but we were able to get his height and weight officially for the first time in MONTHS. 32 inches tall (we think he's actually a little taller because he HATES being laid down on the table at the office to be measured so he was squirming and we don...

Pretzel Crusted Chicken Bites

Anyone who knows me knows my infinite love for chicken. Growing up I pretty much only ate chicken tenders anytime we were out to diner and though I'm a little better now (especially since getting pregnant the first time when I decided to try new things like guacamole and fell in love.. so weird), I do still crave chicken tenders a lot. Joey is a really good cook but we haven't ever been able to fix chicken at home to my liking; fried, baked, grilled, Parmesan crusted, nothing. When we were trying to decide on dinner the other night, I remembered that I'd recently seen a recipe (The Pioneer Woman) where she breaded goat cheese with pretzels so we decided to chop up some chicken and give pretzels a chance to make me change my mind about chicken at home. These did not disappoint! Unfortunately we were out of honey mustard and didn't have the ingredients to make our own so Beckett and I dipped them in ketchup. They were so good on their own that I wasn't even the least ...

Baby #2 - Sharing the news

After trying for baby #2 for several months, we were thrilled to find out in October that we'd be welcoming a new baby in 2016! Since we knew exactly how far along I was this time (we had no clue with Beckett, I was about 7 weeks along and had no clue until my doctor had me take a test at his office before prescribing me fertility drugs) we knew we'd wait a few weeks before we shared the news. We decided that since I'd be 11 weeks on Thanksgiving we'd share the news with our families at our dinners. We had the first one on Wednesday evening and it was such a relief to finally start sharing the news. After dinner we went over to my mom's house to share the news with them since our dinner with them wouldn't be until the next evening. I'd made a cute craft with Beckett to make it a little more special for them. [caption id="attachment_512" align="alignnone" width="2787"] The boxes lifted up and under them it said (1) I'm going...
