Easter 2016

I hope everyone had a great Easter! I had a three day weekend which kicked off Friday with just me and Beckett hanging out at home, enjoying some sweet time together while Joey was working. This Easter was different than what I can remember from past years and Joey and I spent a lot of time talking about how/why things have changed over the last few years. Usually our holiday weekends are packed and we're splitting time with different sides of the family but this weekend we only had one dinner and no real plans to speak of. It was nice. Different but so nice. I'll probably just do a big photo dump instead of going into detail because there really isn't much to detail about our weekend. But first, we had to color eggs during the week leading up to Easter. That was fun. And totally nerve wrecking. But nonetheless, it was a memory made and a tradition that I'm going to need to remind myself in the coming years is worth keeping up with the little ones. Doing things that inv...

Easter Basket Ideas

If you're like me, you spend a lot of time thinking of what to put into your child's Easter basket. I don't like to buy junk for the sake of filling a basket and he's too young for candy-filled eggs so I try to put thought into practical items that will get used and/or played with for more than .2 seconds. I always love seeing what other people are getting and find it so helpful when I'm all out of ideas so hopefully this will help you if you're not sure what to buy. Here's a little peek of what Beckett will be getting in his Easter Basket this year. I've linked everything below the image. Cute basket ;  Sidewalk Chalk ;  Pajamas ;  Bubbles ;  Peeps ;  Miracle Cup ;  Book ;  Insulated Straw Cups I didn't really have a theme as I was putting together the basket, rather I just chose items that I knew he'd enjoy. I had my heart set on a Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit book but he found the Trucks book and I couldn't say no. I probably should have re...

Friday Favorites

I haven't done one of these in a while so I thought it would be fun to join in today. New Stairs : My sweet husband has been properly redoing our stairs and they are finally almost finished (with a few touch ups)! When we built our house in 2013 we had carpeted stairs (THE WORST!) and it got worn down pretty quickly. Last year he took the carpet up and ended up just staining the wood that was there for the time being (that's how desperate we were to get rid of the carpet!). We finally bit the bullet on buying new stair treads and some white board for the risers and seeing the transformation has been one of my FAVORITES. I honestly didn't realize how awful the stained wood looked until I saw the new treads going in. We also replaced the bead board (that we'd put in as the risers) with just a simple white board and it looks so good. Thanks hubs! A Crafty Bachelorette

This past Saturday we celebrated one of my best friends at her Bachelorette party. When Megan (MC) got engaged last year and asked me to be her Matron of Honor, I was SO excited to get to plan a fun outing for her and the rest of us girls. She and I had discussed what type of get together she'd want and we both agreed that some sort of craft day at one of our local art studios would be the best and most fun option. After checking with several studios, I finally decided to go with Paper Moon Studio in Abingdon, VA. We knew we wanted to do something that everyone would be able to enjoy and would want to hang in their homes. I emailed back and forth with the owner and was able to decide on a really cool string art project that was a spin off of MC's original idea of a painting of a tree with the initials of her and her soon-to-be hubby. I was so excited about this project and knew Megan would love it too.   I have to say that the most fun part of the planning for me was designing...

25 Weeks with Baby #2

I'm back with another baby update this week. I don't feel like much has changed since m last update 5 weeks ago but I'm already enjoying comparing my answers so I'm glad I decided to do this. How Far Along?  25 weeks Size of Baby:  About 1.32 lbs Weight Gain:  So I went back and checked on this to see what I weighed at my appointment prior to getting pregnant and I'm up 2 lbs from that. I was holding steady around 138 but I'd lost around 3 lbs (weighed the least in January) and have gained those back quickly over the last month or so. I'm sure I'll start seeing the numbers go up quite a bit in these last 3 months. Maternity Clothes: All the time! Looking forward to the warm weather sticking around so I can start pulling out dresses that I can wear before and after baby. Stretch marks:  Still none! Symptoms:  Still a fairly weak appetite but nothing major. Cravings: Nothing out of the ordinary. Gender:  BOY!  Nursery:  We ordered furniture and it should a...
