Beckett's Pawty

[caption id="attachment_1679" align="aligncenter" width="559"] I always give gift ideas so people don't ask us a million times what to get him. Sometimes it helps, other times people totally ignore it.[/caption] On Saturday, which also happened to be his actual birthday, we had a party to celebrate our little guy turning two! Before I was a mom (and even up until about 2 weeks ago) I was insistent that I'd never have character birthday parties for my kids. HA! I laugh at my pre-mom self every day. Never say never. ;-) I totally could have gotten away with no character theme this year but it just fit the bill and I'm happy to report that I'm actually pleased with how it all turned out. Instead of it being all in-your-face Paw Patrol, I mixed some solid color table cloths and cups with the PP decor. Though I will admit that I originally planned to have solid color plates and napkins but at the last minute gave in and just bought all the P...

Beckett - 2 Years

I can't believe we are here. Two years. My sweet baby, the one who made me a Momma, is two. My heart is aching as the days, months, years keep bustling on by. There are no words to describe the love and joy that Beckett has brought into my life over the last 24 months. He came into my life at just the right time. When I actually take the time to think back to 2014 and the months that followed his birth, we were faced with some really tough life blows (the unexpected death of my sweet Mimi (who was SO over the moon that her first grandchild (ME!) had her first great-grandchild) just over 3 months after his birth and Joey's job loss 2 months later). It was an extremely rough time but he was my light each and every day. I'm just so incredibly thankful that I was chosen to be his Momma. He's the sweetest, smartest, funniest little guy I know and, as heart-wrenching as it is that he's not a tiny baby anymore, it's equally as wonderful seeing him grow and learn. Here ...

Beckett's 2 Year Photos

I have a couple of posts lined up over the next few days regarding Beckett's 2nd birthday but I wanted to start by sharing pictures from his 2 year session. He had fallen asleep on the way so it took a while for him to get woken up and comfortable with what was going on and the smiles were hard to come by. It was also drizzling rain so we were trying to make it as quick as possible but I love how they turned out and I love comparing them to his 1 year photos to see how much he has grown and changed. Thursday Thoughts

ONE I did something I said I'd never do as a parent. I let my toddler wear light up character shoes. I caved when he wasn't feeling good one day and we came across a pair of Paw Patrol light up sandals. He needed some sandals for school so why not let them be Paw Patrol and light up?! I'm sure he's the talk of his class today. haha TWO My best friend (HEYYY MC!! Hope you're having the best time on your honeymoon!) got married last weekend and I designed the programs for the ceremony. I was so nervous to see them after they'd been professionally printed but they looked great! I'm really proud of myself and they were exactly what she was looking for. It made me really happy to be able to help in that small way. [caption id="attachment_1509" align="aligncenter" width="297"] Here is a peek at the front cover[/caption] THREE Beckett's 2nd birthday is next Saturday and I need to step it up. I looked at pictures from his 1st birth...

30 Weeks with Baby #2

Time is really ticking these days! I can't believe I'm at 30 weeks already. We still have so much to do (and so much time to soak up with our #1 guy) before this baby comes. Time to kick it into high gear! How Far Along?  30 weeks! Size of Baby:  About 15.7 inches and almost 3 pounds (according to my app). We'll see him in 2 weeks for the growth scan! Weight Gain:  I've definitely started packing on the pounds over the last few weeks. I think I'm up 7-10 pounds now! Maternity Clothes:  I'm now to the point where I hate all clothes. I just wish the weather would actually stay warm and spring-like so I could put the jeans away. Stretch marks:  Still in the clear! Symptoms:  Maybe a few Braxton Hicks contractions recently. I don't recall ever having them with Beckett so I'm not really sure that's what I'm experiencing. Cravings:  I got a major craving for Cherry Coke that just wouldn't go away! So strange because I don't usually like fruit f...
