Lincoln Asher - Two Months

I really underestimated how difficult it would be to keep up with my blog while being home with two kids. I'm trying to soak in all this time with them because I return to work next month and being away from them for 9+ hours a day isn't something I'm looking forward to. 🙁  I love the newborn stage but it's really difficult with a toddler in tow so I'm just doing my best to bond with Lincoln while making sure Beckett doesn't tear the house apart.

Lincoln is still so laid back and easy so that definitely helps when the terrible twos are in full force around here. He's such a blessing and the sweetest addition to our family. We had his two month well visit today so here's an update about month two of loving our little guy.

  • He loves to be talked to, it makes him smile so big!

  • He has the sweetest smiles!

  • He loves to "talk"

  • Mornings are the best time with him. He's so sweet when he first wakes up. Lots of smiles and talking.

  • We joke that he has a 30 minute quota for being laid down while awake during the day. He hates when he isn't being held, with the exception of about 30 minutes a day when he will just lay and look around and talk. When that time is up he lets you know and pretty much can't be put down without crying for the rest of the day. I'm NOT a believer in crying it out or any nonsense like that (I know some are but it's not for our family) so though there are times I have to let him fuss in order to finish pouring a bowl of cereal, I'll never let him lay and scream when I'm perfectly capable of holding him. He won't want to always be held so I'm soaking it up right now.

  • He's being sleeping in his bed for the last month, in the Dock A Tot. Some nights he does better than others and will sleep a solid 4-5 hours. I'm usually up twice with him and sometimes he's wide awake for hours before we both end up back in my bed and fall back to sleep. Swaddling is hit or miss but he definitely sleeps better/longer when he's swaddled.

  • He's in size 1 diapers and 3 month clothes.

  • Beckett is mildly obsessed with Lincoln (I was sure he'd be tired of him by now) and Lincoln handles the constant smothering and kissing by Beckett like a champ. He lets us know when he's tired of big brothers lovins though.

  • Weight: 13.3lbs

  • Length: 24"

I just really can't get over how sweet he is! His smiles and baby sounds make my heart swell. He makes me want allthebabies!!

Lincoln - 1 Year

It's hard to believe that our precious baby boy is 1. He still seems like such a baby to us, so much smaller than B was at this age (unless our memories have completely failed us). The day he was born was perfection. It will always be one of my most favorite days ever.  We had very few visitors, at our request (of course big brother had to be there!) and were able to enjoy the full day together since the scheduled c section was early in the morning. It was the sweetest day and I'll never forget how special his birthday was or how happy I felt to have another sweet baby boy to love. The first year went a little differently than B's first year. We didn't co-sleep after 1 month, we only made it to 10 months breastfeeding because of the 3rd pregnancy/miscarriage (which is still a major accomplishment but B went 15 months so of course I had guilt over that), we had a TIME trying to get him to sleep at night. Baby #2 - Sharing the news

After trying for baby #2 for several months, we were thrilled to find out in October that we'd be welcoming a new baby in 2016! Since we knew exactly how far along I was this time (we had no clue with Beckett, I was about 7 weeks along and had no clue until my doctor had me take a test at his office before prescribing me fertility drugs) we knew we'd wait a few weeks before we shared the news. We decided that since I'd be 11 weeks on Thanksgiving we'd share the news with our families at our dinners. We had the first one on Wednesday evening and it was such a relief to finally start sharing the news. After dinner we went over to my mom's house to share the news with them since our dinner with them wouldn't be until the next evening. I'd made a cute craft with Beckett to make it a little more special for them. [caption id="attachment_512" align="alignnone" width="2787"] The boxes lifted up and under them it said (1) I'm going...

Lincoln Asher - 11 Months

I just can't say enough how sweet this baby is! However, he sure does give us a run for our money sometimes. He is into EVERYTHING these days. Our stacked stone fireplace = his favorite spot to mess around (inside the fireplace!) by getting the rocks out. You should see the grin on his face when he gets a rock and knows he's not supposed to have it. He will hike his little leg up like he's going to try to crawl on it and when we tell him no he will grin and start shaking his head no. He is rotten to the core. Sometimes I don't think I can handle another one after him. He wears us OUT!! haha Weight: 22lbs He's a professional crawler now. I love hearing his little hands smacking across the floor. He loves to eat. He will eat and eat and eat with no end in sight. He'll tear everything off the table in a restaurant in order to get to the bread. :-D He loves rolls, biscuits, bananas, and Popsicles, in addition to his baby food and formula. He's not a fan of...
